Waking Nights Complex Care Assistant Job in St Austell

Job Description

Role: Complex care assistants required to cover waking nights in and around St Austell, Cornwall.

Pay rate - £9.50/hr

Shift – 22:00 -07:00

We are currently seeking several experienced Care Assistants / Healthcare Assistants to join our complex care team in the St Austell area of Cornwall as part of our Truro branch team.

You will be supporting a client through night, ensuring they have the best possible quality of care when they need it. Each individual care plan features care requirements personal to the individual, but it may include:

  • Monitoring throughout the night when the client wakes
  • Risk of falls, slowed mobility
  • Support management
  • Encouragement around the home

These shifts will be ad-hoc and we are looking for staff who can be flexible with their availability. 

You will have access to comprehensive training and 24 hour support, and in order to ensure that you always have enough work you will be employed on a permanent, flexible contract with guaranteed hours. Due to the nature of this role, access to your own transport is essential.

Upon joining, you’ll receive a full in-house induction as well as an introduction to the client you will be supporting, their needs and care plan. You’ll receive any training necessary to top up your skills, including a shadow shift if required.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

  • The ability to prove your right to live and work in the UK
  • At least 3 months’ previous paid experience working in a complex care environment in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, including a manager who can comment on your clinical ability, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs
  • NVQ2 / SVQ2 in Health and Social Care
  • Appropriate moving and handling training
