Waking Nights Home Care Assistant - Torquay

As a Care Assistant working in the Complex Care Team, you will provide essential care and support to adults living with a range of complex healthcare needs in the local Torquay area of South Devon.

It is essential that you have worked in similar role previously and are able to work well under pressure. You will be working waking night shifts on a regular rota, with shifts varying between 8 - 12 hours; unsociable hours enhancements are included in the rate of pay.

We are now offering full Training Packages and client specific introductions for all complex care cases! However, experience in one or more of the following conditions would be advantageous:


  • Tracheostomy
  • Ventilator
  • PEG
  • Brain Injury
  • Spinal Injury
  • Learning Disability
  • Degenerative Medical Conditions (such as Motor Neurone Disease)
  • Positive Intervention Training

You will form an integral part of the Newcross Care at Home team in this varied and rewarding role, delivering person-centred care in accordance with personalised care plans that enrich lives.

You will have access to comprehensive training and 24 hour support, and in order to ensure that you always have enough work you will be employed on a permanent, flexible contract with guaranteed hours. Due to the nature of this role, access to your own transport is essential.

  • Salary up to £14.28/hr, paid weekly including holiday pay

  • One-to-one relationship with a dedicated service manager

  • The ability to prove your right to live and work in the UK
  • At least 3 months’ previous paid experience working in a complex care environment in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, including a manager who can comment on your clinical ability, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs
  • Medication administration certificate highly preferable
  • Moving and handling training - gained or renewed in the last 12 months
