We are looking to recruit a Ward Hostess to join our team of Bank staff to cover ad hoc shifts during busy periods and to cover holiday and sickness. The successful applicant will provide a high standard food and beverage service to patients and visitors in an efficient, cheerful and hygienic manner, ensuring that all appropriate actions are taken to comply with Environmental Health and Health and Safety at work regulations.
To be aware of the need for personal hygiene at all times.
To be courteous, customer aware and responsive to visitors requests.
To work in close liaison with Nursing staff and the main kitchen.
To ensure that patients receive the correct meal, at the right temperature with the requested items, appropriate accompaniments and cutlery settings
To pay particular attention to patients with special dietary requirements.
To report all customer complaints to the senior member of staff on duty.
To notify the senior duty member of staff of any defects or breakdown of equipment.
To ensure that the policy regarding visitors is adhered to and that Charge Forms are prepared for items provided.
To comply with the company policy regarding Health and Safety and COSHH.
To maintain a high standard of hygiene within the pantries, by following the set cleaning schedules.
To comply with food hygiene legislation and work according to the guidelines set out in the Catering Policy Manual.
Working hours: As and when required
Essential qualifications and experience required:
Good general education
Basic computer literacy
Attention to detail and a high standard of written and spoken English
Basic Food Hygiene certification is a must as a Ward Hostess. New job holders must obtain the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate within 3 months of appointment
Annual refresher course on Basic Food Hygiene will be provided
