Job Description

We are currently seeking an exemplary Ward Matron to join the Senior Management Team leading Barnwell C Acute Orthopaedic Ward at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder is accountable to the Lead Nurse to ensure day to day service provision and high quality, safe care. He or she is expected to actively contribute to the on-going service review, recognising the importance of ensuring key performance indicators and nursing metric standards are met.

You will be responsible for the professional leadership and clinical development of nursing team. You will be responsible for the implementation of the local nursing strategy and be expected to positively lead and exemplify the nursing vision at the Trust.

This will require the post holder to adopt a highly visible and accessible approach for patients and staff, leading by example in empowering all staff to undertake a greater range of clinical tasks to modernize and improve patient care.

You should have a proven track record of leading teams to excellence and be able to demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities within a challenging environment. Tenacity, resilience and the ability to use your initiative and identify innovative opportunities is fundamental to the role. If you are successful in your application for this position your commencement date will coincide with the Trust’s Induction programme held on a monthly basis. Attendance on the full induction programme is a mandatory requirement prior to starting in the work area. Therefore, if parts of this induction fall outside of the normal contracted hours of duty for this position, you will be requested to make arrangements to enable you to fully attend the Induction.
