Role Description
We have opportunities for Weekends and Relief Support Workers to join our supported living service in Bingham. The successful candidates will be contracted to work weekends only ( 16 hours per week) or as and when required. There are 5 people at this service and we support them to live as independently as possible. No experience or qualifications required as you will take part in our award winning induction training.

About the job

Duties will include:
• Personal care
• Social activities and appointments
• Medication administration
• Meal preparation
• Light domestic duties
• Weekend shifts which will include evenings, sleeping in shifts. The morning shifts start at 7.30 am, the late shift finishes at 9.00 pm and the sleeping in shift is from 9.00 pm to 7.30 am.

Essential Criteria
• Must be able to work both as a team member and on own initiative
• Must attend training sessions as are deemed necessary by the management
• Must demonstrate loyalty, flexibility and commitment

Principal requirements:
• To treat the people we support as individuals, and deliver person centred care in a respectful manner in accordance with individual support plans
• To support the people we support in meeting their personal care needs, such as; assisting a person with dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and continence needs.
• To assist the people we support with mobility support needs by promoting independence and ensuring a person's safety and well-being.
• To assist in the promotion of dignity, respect, mental and physical well-being of the people we support through positive communication, socially inclusive activities such as going out, engaging people in meaningful activities and conversation such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
• Read and write accurate and detailed daily records and reports
• Comply with Mencap's guidelines, policies, procedures and all relevant legislation and legal framework at all times such as; The GSCC Code of Conduct for Social Care Workers, Health and Safety at Work Act, Care Standards Act, Protection of Vulnerable Adults
