The Wheelchair Assessment Service provided by Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) is looking for an experienced Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to complete this unique team.

Working across a wide range of disability scenarios in a shared team approach is very rewarding work, with no two days being the same. The team is keen to share existing knowledge as well as learn from new ideas, with a collective team ethos of trying to do the best for all clients within available resources.

The successful applicant will have relevant experience in a range of disciplines, for example neurology, postural management and wheelchair provision, paediatrics and/or long term conditions. The work is varied and interesting, providing new challenges and experiences that will stretch you and provide a sound base for future career development.

You will be working as part of a diverse multi-professional team, providing a high standard of clinical assessment relating to posture management and wheelchair provision. The role will include undertaking clinic-based assessments and visits within the community at a range of locations. The Wheelchair Service is provided in multiple sites across Kent and Medway..

The skills required for this diverse role include practical problem solving for complex postural and mobility needs, highly developed clinical reasoning, team work and advanced communication skills. Support will be available through a corporate and local induction programme, regular clinical supervision and a programme of targeted continuing professional development within the Trust. There is also an active service-based training programme to enable the post holder to build and enhance skills in this specialist area.
