Are you seeking a new Managerial role within Healthcare? Are you a Registered General Nurse, minimum of a band 8 with a Managerial background?

The location for this exciting opportunity is Surrey and the client is now looking for an exceptional Hospital Manager.
Our client is a provider of the whole spectrum of Ophthalmic health care including diagnosis, treatment and surgery for refractive, cosmetic and general eye conditions on a day care treatment basis.

Purpose of the post
Being registered Manager and ensuring compliance with CQC and other regulatory requirements, taking operational responsibility for the day-to-day management of the unit. Leading the clinical and patient services teams and participating in all aspects of the service. Ensuring a comprehensive level of care provision, supporting the Business Development Manager in on-going activities, actively participating in the induction and training of staff, maintaining the out of hours emergency service, participating in the management on call service.
Key tasks
Hold overall accountability for the level of care delivered to patients, including Outpatient consultations and diagnostic investigations, pre-assessment of patients prior surgery, admission and discharge of patients, after hours clinical cover.
Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions by overseeing the allocation of staff ensuring adherence to the Working Time Directive, procurement, training, use, storage of clinical equipment, decontamination services and monitoring the work environment.
Management of the infection control policies and working procedures.
Management
Establish and maintain clear, positive and professional leadership, provide clarity regarding core values, review all hospital systems, work with the Managing Director to ensure policies are consistent. Maintain strong working relationships with all providers. Responsible for audit, compliance and continuous professional development, following the CQC guidelines.
Investigate and report on complaints, adverse events, SUIs, incidents and accidents and infections. Ensure Health and safety risk assessments and requirements are met per legislation. Responsible for auditing the quality of service.
Financial Support/Business Development
Undertake cost improvement and cost pressure assessments every 6-12months, manage effective staff, budgets, stock levels, staff vacancies, bank staff and agency.


Mandatory requirements:-
The post holder must at all times maintain their professional registration
The post holder is required to participate in the appraisal process
The post holder will demonstrate on-going training and CPD
The post holder has the responsibility to manage risk, infection control and H&S

Qualifications
Essential - Registered General Nurse Band 8 or above, evidence of ongoing professional development, managing qualification or experience of managing and leading teams.
Skills
Essential - Ability to lead a team of professionals, excellent all round clinical skills, effective written and oral communication, organisational, analytical and judgement skills. The ability to deal with challenging behaviour, ability to delegate, prioritise and motivate, ability to act as a resource for colleagues and staff.
Good IT skills, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Experience
Essential - Significant post registration clinical experience, operational management and leadership, staff recruitment and HR management experience, clinical governance and relevant healthcare legislation, managing a designated budget, managing a caseload, experience of writing, implementation and management of policies, experience of handing complaints.

Salary: £45,000 and £55,000 depending on experience.
Location: Surrey
Excellent package including 25days + holiday, pension, healthcare, bonus and life assurance.
