The ideal candidates will provide professional nursing input and care for residents within the unit and will provide nursing input and support to all staff in the multi-disciplinary team. You will support the Nurse Manager in managing the efficient and effective provision of quality services in the unit.
You will be required to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, visitors, carers, members of the multi-disciplinary care team, Registration Bodies and visiting professionals.
Professional Responsibilities:
1 By definition the role is to provide professional nursing care and input to the residents in the unit.
2 You will at all times comply with and promote the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
3 You will ensure that you maintain your own professional skills and competencies in line with the NMC guidelines, the requirements of the Company and best practice.
4 You will be required to provide nursing advice based on sound evidence and best practice to members of the multi-disciplinary and senior management teams.
5 You will be expected to take a substantial role in promoting, developing and enhancing nursing practice throughout the unit. This may include audit and research.
Key Result Areas:
1. Responsible for providing high quality nursing care for residents both within the unit.
2. Responsible for providing nursing support, advice and guidance to members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high standards of care are provided to all residents at all times.
3. Assisting in ensuring that the available resources are effectively and efficiently deployed within the unit and conform to the requirements of the Registration Authority.
4. Supporting the monitoring of care, ensuring the achievement of consistently high quality services. To implement corrective actions, as appropriate.
5. Participating in unit wide meetings and discussions as required, including resident reviews, tribunals and handovers.
6. To conform at all times to the Policies and Procedures of the Company, with particular regard to confidentiality, financial and administrative responsibilities, and treat residents, colleagues and visitors with dignity and respect at all times.
7. To undertake any other appropriate roles and responsibilities as requested and required.
