December 21st 2004
Well everyone I am now back in Somerset for my Christmas holidays. I arrived here late Friday evening and have already caught up with most of my friends and got drunk many times.
I have started work at the hospital I used to work at prior to my training. I have seen all my friends in Endoscopy and have done my first shift there. I was supposed to have done a shift on one of the wards yesterday and today. However, I cover the wards on the nurse bank and was down as a floater. They didn’t need me yesterday (so I ended up covering a shift in endoscopy) and then today I was supposed to be on a medical ward. But they now don’t need me!!
Things don’t change much at this hospital, they just occasionally get worse!!
However, they have now built the new (very small) training academy, which will be used to train student nurses, medical students and nurse assistants.
I have now received confirmation on my maternity experience after Christmas back in Worcester (delivery suite and postnatal). I have also found out that the library at this hospital will be closing today until the day after I leave, so they can move it to the new academy. So I may not be able to do any more entries until my return to Worcester.
I hope that you all have a great Christmas and a happy new year. Matt
