'The crux of our mission statement is as pertinent today as it ever was; to enable our patients to live the remainder of their lives to the full, to remain at home if they wish and to die with dignity where they choose' Jurat Jean King MBE, (1939-2012) founder member of Jersey Hospice Care
Our aim is that islanders are enabled to live the remainder of their lives to the full, to remain at home if they wish and to die with dignity where they choose.
Jersey Hospice Care provides specialist palliative care for everyone who requires it, irrespective of cause. As a result, 27% of the patients we now care for do not have cancer.
Jersey Hospice Care is a registered charity, which makes no charge to patients. It costs approximately £4.5 million each year to run our services, which is predominantly thanks to the generosity of islanders.
Be a part of something special…
Often challenging but ultimately rewarding; a role at Jersey Hospice Care offers the opportunity to be part of a multi-professional team who provide truly holistic care in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Without the commitment and professionalism of our staff and volunteers, we would not be able to provide the full range of much needed services. Our team is made up of around 90 full and part time staff in a variety of professional disciplines, as well as an amazing team of volunteers that is close to 500 strong.
As specialists in Palliative Care, our remit is ever growing. With this in mind, we are always on the look-out for people of the highest calibre, with the right skills and attributes, to be a part of our team. There are many ways that you can contribute to the services we provide and if you feel that you have what it takes to join us, we would love to hear from you.
