Activities Coordinator

The Hillings, St Neots, Cambs

Full Time, 35 hours per week

Our Home

The Hillings is a purpose built residential home in Eaton Socon, Cambridgeshire, comprising of a number of attractive wings arranged around well stocked courtyard gardens. In a quiet residential area, The Hillings is easy to find for visitors and guests yet tucked away at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac where rest and relaxation are guaranteed. Surrounding the home is an area of lawn where residents can walk or, during good weather, sit under the shade of the trees. The courtyard gardens are stocked with colourful shrubs and plants that give year-round interest, particularly to those that have a love of gardening, making it one of the most attractive residential homes in Cambridgeshire.

The Activities Coordinator with Healthcare Homes is an essential role to support the well-being of our residents. Our ethos is all about celebrating life, so we aim for all our homes to be vibrant, joyful communities with a wide range of stimulating activities and entertainment to suit every taste and ability.

We are looking for someone who is very outgoing and confident with previous experience within a similar position. The Hillings, being a 72-bedded home, this post is a great chance for someone to bring new ideas and energy to our already existing activities.

To ensure each resident has personalised activities which suit their needs, you will be required to get to know our residents and their families. You will tailor an ongoing programme of activities and events for each resident aimed at promoting their independence and social engagement.

You will need to be creative, inspiring, and organised. Experience within a similar role and environment would be preferable.

The skills and experience of an Activities Co-ordinator would be;

  • A knowledge and/or previous experience of working within a relevant and appropriate healthcare environment is essential.
  • Able to plan, organise and execute a varied and stimulating monthly programme of activities.
  • Ability to manage and co-ordinate multiple tasks.
  • Ability to identify needs of collective group and tailor activities accordingly.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate an ability to ensure confidentiality

The Role

  • Full Time, 35 hours per week
  • Monday – Sunday Rota, if you work a weekend; you will have 2 days off in the week
