Mammographers Needed for Sunny Essex Location

This is a Fantastic Opportunity for Band 6 Mammographer to join this Trust located in the south Essex.

Their radiology department provides a comprehensive, state of the art, diagnostic service using x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerised tomography (CT), Mammography and Ultrasound. They are the surgical centre for uro-oncology and gynae-oncology surgery and is considered to be a centre of excellence for the care of stroke.

In this role you will provide the mammographic service for the symptomatic and screening service. You will have the necessary skills to work independently away from the base unit. You will travel to the different sites used by the screening service. You will provide information to the clients attending screening. Also you will train to provide advanced practice in film reading for the breast unit and breast screening service, working to written protocols

Requirements:

B.Sc. in Radiography or D.C.R. or equivalent and post graduate award in mammographic studies (formerly the Certificate of Competence in Mammography).
HCPC Registered
Need to be a car driver with access to a car.
Have excellent communication skills with empathy for the patients/clients
To be a good team player
To have a good knowledge of the QA aims and objectives of mammography
To have good clinical skills.
To have good knowledge of the equipment being used and recognise when there is the need to call a service engineer.
To be able to supervise and provide support for the role of Assistant Practitioner in mammography (Four tier system of radiography), and any training radiographer mammographers.
Radiographers should be conversant with the latest IRMER regulations about radiation safety.
