Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the care of surgical patients on a busy ward. The wide range of clinical procedures provided by Spire Manchester Hospital means that you will be exposed to a diverse range of nursing specialisms such as: orthopaedic, paediatric and bariatric surgery. Your role will include managing a group of patients, providing clinical skills including communicating with the patient, assessing their immediate and future care needs and aiding their recovery. This might include care of their surgical site, medicine management and fluid balance.
You will work as part of a friendly team and you will be supported by senior nurses who have the knowledge and experience to assist and support you to achieve high standards of nursing care. You will have chance to gain many skills in caring for a wide variety of patient types.
Qualifications & Training: We are looking for qualified Registered Nurses.
Experience: The successful candidate will have experience of working in teams and working with minimum supervision. Previous surgical experience is essential and ideally you will have experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes.
Knowledge and Technical Ability: You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of delivering high quality care and what it takes to make a difference to the patients admitted under your care as well as having an interest in current evidence based practice and a desire to make a difference.
You will be competent across a range of nursing skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge and you will possess the mandatory training requirements for the role including infection control and health and safety competencies. In addition, you must be able to demonstrate the principles of accountable practice.

Working hours: This is a bank position, working adhoc shifts in line with business requirements. The post entails covering both day and night shifts.
