Care Assistant Job in Peterborough

Job Description

Care Assistant Job in Peterborough

We are seeking experienced Care Assistants to join our friendly Peterborough team, working in the local area in a range of settings. We have a variety of shifts on offer, including days, nights and weekends - presenting the opportunity for you to work shifts suited to your availability, with the added support of a permanent contract, guaranteed hours and a local line manager.

You will be involved in ensuring each individual you encounter receives an excellent standard of care that meets their personal care plan. This could include: dressing, washing, toileting and enabling service users to live their daily lives as they choose. You will play an essential role in enabling clients to live fulfilling lives, partaking in their favourite activities and interacting with their families, visitors and other residents.

In order to ensure you always have enough work, you should be willing to travel around the local surrounding areas. Due to rural client locations and shift times, public transport is not always readily available, therefore access to your own vehicle is desirable, but not essential.

Benefits of working as a Newcross Care Assistant:

  • Salary up to £11.96/hr, paid weekly including holiday pay
  • Permanent, flexible hours contract
  • Agreed mileage payments for most clients
  • Free uniform & training through credits earned as you work
  • Criminal record check (DBS) cost refunded after initial joining period
  • Recommend a Friend scheme paying up to £500 per successful referral
  • Online area and smartphone app to manage your availability, bookings and payslips
  • Local line manager and branch support team
  • 24-hour support contact centre, open 365 days a year

We take pride in the quality of our care, so we’re looking for experienced individuals with a genuine, caring approach as well as the skills to deliver person-centred care.

To apply for this position you will need the following:

  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • At least 3 months’ previous paid experience working in a care environment in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, including a manager who can comment on your clinical ability, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs

  • A certificate confirming your participation in a practical moving and handling course in the last 12 months, or be willing to book onto a Newcross course
