It’s an exciting time to join us: KMPT has been rated Outstanding for Caring and Good overall in our most recent CQC inspection in January 2017!

We are looking for two enthusiastic and committed clinical psychologists to join our well established and dynamic service for people over the age of sixty five who live in Kent and Medway.

The post holders will be based within a multidisciplinary community team that works closely with in-patient and community services to provide a comprehensive service to older people with a wide range of mental health needs plus younger people with dementia. You will have the opportunity to be involved in providing memory services, group work, participating in multidisciplinary staff development and supervision, enhancing the provision of psychological therapies for older people, service development and evaluation.

The location of posts will be at one of the following team bases with travel involved: Dartford, Swale or Thanet. We would be happy to discuss your preferences at interview.

The post holders will join a vibrant and supportive psychology service for older people in Kent and Medway. Your colleagues include clinical psychologists, counselling psychologists, drama/music/art therapists, trainee psychologists, assistant psychologists and psychology students.   Within easy distance of the South Thames Clinical Psychology Training Centre, our service welcomes trainees and takes advantage of post-qualification training courses and events.

This post is subject to a six month probationary period for candidates external to the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.

To deliver an effective service it is essential that you are able to travel between bases in a timely manner.

Being able to travel in a timely way across the county, when necessary, is a key aspect of the role.

IN CASES WHERE WE RECEIVE A HIGH VOLUME OF APPLICATIONS FOR A POST, IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO BRING THE CLOSING DATE FORWARD. YOU ARE ADVISED TO SUBMIT YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION FORM AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.

DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO RESPOND INDIVIDUALLY TO YOUR APPLICATION. SHOULD YOU NOT HEAR FROM US WITHIN SIX WEEKS OF THE VACANCY CLOSING, PLEASE ASSUME THAT YOUR APPLICATION HAS NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL.
