Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. ACUTE CARE CONSULTANTS IN PAEDIATRICS AND NEONATES
Hours: 10 PAs per week
Salary: £76,001 - £102,465 per annum

We are looking to appoint 2 substantive acute care consultants in the Department of Paediatrics to improve out of hours cover for the busy Level 2 Neonatal Unit as per recommendations of a recent invited review of services by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. Each post is a 10 programmed activities post that will include resident out of hours cover to General Paediatrics and Neonates working with a tier 2 registrars and tier 1 doctor with support from a non-resident consultant on call on tier 3.
Successful candidates will be encouraged to develop special interests complimentary to the current services provided e.g. neonatology, cardiology, ambulatory paediatrics, renal or medical education etc.
The successful applicants will possess GMC registration with a valid licence to practice, MBChB or equivalent and MRCPCH or equivalent. They should be on GMC Specialist Register or should be eligible for inclusion in the specialist register within 6 months of the interview.
