Job Description

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit has commenced and is due to be completed 2017, and plans to extend the neonatal unit are underway.

We provide high quality, friendly and effective community health services from multiple sites covering Walsall. Our multidisciplinary services include rapid response and homebased care, so that those with long term conditions and the frail elderly can remain in their own homes.

TRUST FOUNDATION YEAR 2 GENERAL SURGERY

HOURS: 40 Basic hours + on call commitment

Salary: £28,357 minimum

The Trust is looking to appoint two Trust FY2 doctors to fill vacancy within the department of General Surgery. This post is to commence 2nd August 2016 for a period of 12 months ending on 31st July 2018. The successful candidate will partake in a 1:8 full shift general surgical on-call rota.

The successful candidate must possess basic medical degree eg MBBS or equivalent, Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice and have completed Foundation Year 1 and 2 training or equivalent and be able to demonstrate appropriate competencies at that level.
