Job Description

Newcross has several flexible vacancies for experienced and empathetic Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to work in the Brighton area through our friendly  Eastbourne branch. Choose flexible full or part time hours suited to your availability and be in charge of your own rota!

Due to some client locations, it is desirable but not essential that you have access to your own vehicle.

About the Role:

You will be working in a range of nursing, care and residential homes providing the highest level of care for every individual you encounter. It is highly desirable that you have previous experience working with dementia.

It is essential that you are confident in your ability to work in a calm, reassuring manner, putting the service users at the center of all you do. This could include a range of tasks and activities such as personal care, domestic tasks and general activities that allow that individual to live their life in the way they choose.

In order to be successful in this caring role, you will need to be a naturally compassionate person with a strong sense of empathy for those individuals in your care.

  • The right to live and work in the UK
  • At least 3 months’ previous paid experience working in a care or nursing home in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, including a manager who can comment on your clinical ability, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs

  • A certificate confirming your participation in a practical moving and handling course in the last 12 months, or be willing to book onto a Newcross course

If you have an NVQ2 / SVQ2 in Health and Social Care, or currently work in a care assistant job, you could be fast tracked through our recruitment process.
