Health & Safety Lead within a Healthcare environment





Responsibilities:



  • Provide expert advice and practical support to the business, ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations and guidance, for example, the CQC, West Sussex Council.
  • Ensure compliance within the Homes with standards and processes through the development and completion of relevant audit, risk management and best practice tools.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with others in applying appropriate and effective health and safety systems and procedures.
  • Investigation of accidents/near misses, (especially within our Care Homes) providing written reports to include recommendations and where appropriate supporting remedial action to ensure legislative requirements are fulfilled
  • Promote the principles of learning organisation, encouraging the sharing of best practice, policy and regulatiry frameworks and offering support and advice around procedures and systems.Operate within the context of the service priorities and principles of increasing user choice and control over the services they receive. These priorities focus on meeting the following care outcomes:
    • Enhancing the quality of life for the people we support
    • Ensure that the people we support have a positive experience of care and support
  • Embrace the programme of change necessary to embed and build on the Company's Quality Strategy.



Person Specification:



  • Must have previous experience within the Healthcare Industry
  • Must a Professional health and safety qualification, with sound knowledge of internal and external compliance practice
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, and an ability to work with and influence people at all levels within the organisation
  • To be flexible in approach to workload so as to be responsive to issues as they arise
  • Good analytical skills and IT literate
  • Full Driving Licence.
