Job Description

We are seeking a committed and experienced Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join our client's busy Cardiac Transplant Unit based at their NHS Trust site in Central London (Travelcard Zone 1).
This is a full-time permanent post, but this unit is open to hearing from applicants seeking to negotiate a part-time opportunity; however, fixed hours cannot be guaranteed.

Our client is a leading NHS Trust in Central London. Our client engages with many of the country’s eminent Consultant surgeons and a broad spectrum of healthcare specialists, to deliver outstanding acute Surgical Care supported by a very high standard of perioperative care.

The Transplant Unit supports up to 30 Cardiothoracic patients who may require invasive support therapy or HDU care (for heart or lung failure), and are either undergoing assessment or on the waiting list for trasplantation. The internal HDU cares for patients undergoing treatments/interventions including BIPAP, CPAP, Intermittent Haemofiltration, Ventricular assist devices, Inotrope therapy and Intra-aortic balloon pumping.

Person Requirements:
Registered Nurse with full NMC registration.
At least three years' overall experience in a Cardiac/Cardiothoracic setting, with some HDU experience.
To have completed a recognised Teaching and Assessing/Mentorship qualification.
A post-registration qualification in one aspect of Critical Care.
Good communication skills and willingness to work in a flexible environment will be essential.
