An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 5 Occupational Therapist to contribute to the development of the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) in delivering care and support to people experiencing a first episode of psychosis. We are looking for a practitioner who is motivated to work with this exciting and evolving service and have a focus on developing, facilitating and evaluating recovery groups. The role will also include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual treatment plans, leading on occupational needs assessments and providing opportunities for service users to attend recovery groups.
Currently the EIP service works with people aged 14-35 however in the next few months, the service will develop to work with people aged 14-65 to meet the new Access and Waiting Time standards. Experience of working directly with people experiencing psychosis is essential. Applicants need to be able to work flexibly, creatively and be responsive to the needs of this client group and their carers.
You will work under the supervision of an EIP Band 6/7 practitioner You will work alongside EIP colleagues, other KMPT care groups and work in partnership with voluntary services. You will be expected to have a good knowledge of local community organisations which provide help and support to those with mental health concerns as well as physical health resources.
We are seeking to appoint Mental Health Occupational Therapists who enjoy being part of new initiatives, are highly clinically skilled and have excellent communication skills. This project requires individuals who are highly motivated, results-orientated and able to work to challenging timescales. You will be directly employed by Kent & Medway NHS Partnership Trust and subject to Trust terms and conditions.
