Our client is a leading Independent Ophthalmic clinic offering medical and surgical care to eye patients. Their hospitals boast state of the art technology offering the ability to provide the highest standard of care to patients. They work in partnership with the NHS and are often able to reduce the waiting times required for specific surgeries. They currently offer treatment across a range of areas including cataract surgery, age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, implantable contact lenses and sight correction procedures.
We are currently looking for Staff Nurses to work in their clinics based in Sheffield. All of their clinics have a very friendly and welcoming feel. As a Clinic Nurse you will be required to support patient's pre and post op that are going through an ophthalmic procedure.
Working alongside the Senior Staff Nurses on the ward you will be responsible for ensuring the right standard of care is provided to all patients at all time. Your day to day will include diagnostic test, admission and discharge of patients, preparing areas prior to clinical treatment and ensuring all equipment is ready to use, post-operative care, administering of drugs according to guidelines and assisting the consultant and clinical team in the delivery of ophthalmic care. You will have an innate ability to quickly identify any issues or concerns and act accordingly. Working as part of the team you will be competent across these areas, carrying out these tasks on a daily basis while maintaining a safe environment for patients under your care. You will also be assigned other ad hoc duties as required by senior members of staff.
To be considered for this role you would have a registered nurse qualification and at least one year's post graduation experience in a hospital/clinical setting. Ophthalmic experience is preferred however candidates with a strong surgical background who may have had exposure to this area will be considered. You will be enthusiastic, motivated and have the ability to work well under pressure. You will be required to adapt a flexible approach to the needs of the business. Working as part of a team you will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, strong IT skills and be a good team player.
