Paediatric Staff Nurse

Looking for an exciting new opportunity in an innovative and fast paced paediatric unit? Then come and join us In Queen Alexandra’s Paediatric Unit.

The rotation that we offer is the chance to develop a multitude of skills and enhance your knowledge to new levels.

You will rotate between three dynamic areas, a Children’s Assessment unit, a Medical ward and a Surgical ward. Opportunities may also be available to rotate to Paediatric Emergency Department, Community and Neonatal Intensive Care. Full support is offered to all new staff members and a comprehensive preceptor-ship programme is available for newly qualified staff nurses.

Within our unit we have not just the above three wards, but also a paediatric X-Ray department, a busy Children’s outpatients department, several playrooms, a physio gym, excellent parent provisions and a school room.

We are looking for newly qualified (including dual qualified) as well as more experienced nurses to join our amazing team which includes physiotherapists, dietitians, specialist nurses, play specialists and many others.

You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, be a keen team player as well as a desire to be part of a team that wants to provide the best care for their patients. Competent at nursing within an acute setting with the flexibility to adapt to often rapidly changing situation and be ability to manage a complex workload

We will support your professional development via internal courses including Trust Leadership and Management programmes, and we have a Paediatric Practice Development nurse on site for support and development.
