Our Client is looking for a Residential Team Leader to join there Childrens home in Oxfordshire
The Responsibility of a Residential Team Leader will be to provide quality care for a group of vulnerable adolescents with day to day responsibility for managing, directing and supervising a staff team.
The Residential Team Leader will be actively involved in effectively managing the staff team in using effective care practice, deescalating and diversionary strategies and recognised techniques to manage young people who exhibit challenging, threatening and confrontational behaviour. The Residential Team Leader will also organise, plan and participate in the homes recreational and social programmes as well as engaging the children in leisure activities that extend the children social pursuits.
You will be enthusiastic about dealing with challenging and difficult behaviour. You will be able to easily build a rapport with young people. This means that you will be very patient, kind, calm and resilient. A 'Can DO' attitude is essential. You will also be willing to undertake training and work towards a NVQ level 3 in Children & Young People's Workforce.
You will have past experience working in a Residential children home and will have a passion for supporting the young and vulnerable. You will have worked with children with learning disabilities, or been a care manager or deputy.The role will require you to work alternate week shift patterns which involves working for 7 days including sleep ins and on calls followed by a week of shift. You will ideally have a Full UK drivers Licence.
