Safeguarding Team (Maternity Cover for 6 months)


If you are a band 5 pursuing a career in safeguarding, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the School Health Service for a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse to cover maternity leave for up to 6 months within our friendly and dynamic Safeguarding Team. The role involves working closely with children, young people and their families to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities in the culturally diverse school aged population of Lewisham. The candidate will be experienced in managing a safeguarding caseload and be passionate about working with school aged children and vulnerable young people.


To satisfy the post, the candidate needs to have a passion for working with children, young people and families and have a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding children and young people. The role aim is to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities in the culturally diverse school aged population of Lewisham.
The team is friendly and supportive and can offer the successful candidate a comprehensive induction/training programme and on-going clinical/child protection supervision and support.


Experience of working with children and families in a health setting is desired.
