Our client is a leading Independent Ophthalmic clinic offering medical and surgical care to eye patients. Their hospitals boast state of the art technology offering the ability to provide the highest standard of care to patients. They work in partnership with the NHS and are often able to reduce the waiting times required for specific surgeries. They currently offer treatment across a range of areas including cataract surgery, age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, implantable contact lenses and sight correction procedures.
We are currently looking for Staff Nurses to work in their clinics based in Leeds. All of their clinics have a very friendly and welcoming feel. As a Clinic Nurse you will be required to support patient`s pre and post op that are going through an ophthalmic procedure.
Working alongside the Consultants you will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing the right standards of care to all patients who are undergoing surgical procedures. Your day to day will involve preparing the equipment and instruments according to the needs of the patient and the surgeon`s specifications, updating the surgeon`s preference cards, ensuring all equipment is checked prior to use, reporting any faults immediately and working as part of a cohesive team. You will also be required to administer drugs, manage stock and ensure the theatre is maintained at all times whilst adhering to infection control and safety guidelines. You will also be required to participate in the on call rota.
To be considered for this role you would have a registered nurse or ODP with at least one year`s post graduation experience. Ophthalmic experience would be desirable however training can be offered to the right candidates who show a real passion about working in Theatre. You will be enthusiastic, motivated and have the ability to work well under pressure. You will be required to adapt a flexible approach to the needs of the business. Working as part of a team you will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, strong IT skills and be a good team player.
