Job Description

Senior Recovery Practitioner (Outside the Wire) – Suffolk – £21,911 to £23,716 per annum – 37 Hours per week

One year fixed term contract – possibility of extension

Are you ex-forces and looking for a challenging and rewarding role?

Are you passionate about recovery from substance misuse?

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time post working with serving Armed Forces personnel, Veterans, Reservists and their families who have issues with alcohol and drug misuse. You will work with individuals, undertaking referrals and assessments, managing a caseload, completing recovery care plans, and providing information and advice to substance users.

You will need to collect data, statistics and client case stories to support the future funding of the service, therefore you must be highly organised with good administrative skills. As Senior Practitioner you will also provide day-to-day support to other workers in the team and to volunteers.

The role will involve travel across Suffolk, therefore the ability to drive and access to a car is essential. Evening work may sometimes be necessary depending on the needs of the clients.

The Matthew Project is a value driven charity working across East Anglia giving help and hope through programmes with adults, young people and communities affected by drugs and alcohol. We have a vision to reach every part of the community in the most creative, effective and efficient ways. Through our varied services, young people and adults receive professional advice, information, counselling, support, care and education.

This post is restricted to veterans of the Armed Forces and is funded by Royal British Legion. This is a 1 year contract but with the possibility of extension.

Closing Date: 12pm (noon) on Monday 11 December 2017

Interview date: Tuesday 19 December 2017 in Norwich
