Staff Nurse Respiratory

We are looking for an efficient, enthusiastic, highly motivated nurse with good interpersonal and communication skills to work in our respiratory unit. You will be joining our friendly and dynamic team with excellent standards and great work ethic. You will be supported to develop into the band 5 role through preceptor-ship, peer support and an exciting range of educational opportunities.
Doyle ward is no ordinary chest ward as we have regional and national specialist respiratory services, giving you the opportunity to learn about nursing patients with a whole range of conditions. You will be upskilled to cannulate, take earlobe blood gases, catheterise and deal with life-saving equipment such as nasal ventilation and high-flow oxygen.
We also have opportunities to rotate six monthly within the other specialist chest wards if you wish to broaden your horizons! Opportunities include a ventilation unit, lung oncology, cystic fibrosis among others.
Respiratory Medicine service treats patients with a full range of respiratory diseases including: COPD, Asthma, Lung Cancer, Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Sleep Apnoea and Infectious Lung disease.
The service is staffed from across many professions and includes consultants and their teams, ward managers and their nursing teams, specialist nurses, physiotherapy, respiratory physiology and other allied health professionals.
