Staff Nurse - RGN - Hospital - Oncology Ward - Manchester - £26,358 - £29,851 per annum, plus shift enhancement

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

I am currently recruiting for a Staff Nurse ( RGN ) to join an Oncology ward in Manchester.

As an RGN, you will be joining an established Hospital, which has been a successful joint venture between a world renowned Healthcare group and the NMC Foundation Trust for 5 years.

Private patients at this Hospital can be treated with a full range of diagnostic, inpatient, surgical, day care and outpatient treatment all on one site benefiting from best practice, of this pioneering collaborative partnership of services.

As a Staff Nurse working on this Oncology ward, you must be able to prioritise workload effectively and be able to work under pressure. You should also be both professional and personable, with a passion for customer service and a desire to provide an exceptional patient experience.

The team here at this Hospital are very close knit and have created a strong support network across the whole team. With this in mind being a true team player will be very important part of this role.

As a Staff Nurse - RGN, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Independently assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care
  • Providing outstanding patient care from assessment through to evaluations
  • Providing support with supervising and directing junior staff and will deputising for Senior Staff Nurse and Sister in their absence
  • Provide effective on-going evaluation of nursing care and interventions
  • Implement changes in care smoothly, consulting patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team
  • Recognise and take appropriate action in emergency situations
  • Record, monitor and interpret patient vital signs, reporting to the nurse in charge
  • Accurately monitor and document nursing outcomes

As a Staff Nurse - RGN, you must have:

  • A Registered General Nurse qualification
  • A current, valid registration with the NMC
  • Previous haematology/oncology experience
  • Knowledge of chemotherapy treatment regimes
  • Skills in phlebotomy/IV and Chemotherapy would be desirable
  • Previous exposure to palliative care would be advantageous
  • Chemotherapy certificate would also be desirable
  • The legal right to work in the UK
