The People We Support require that support on every day of the year, and at various times during the day. Therefore you would need to flexible around your working hours, with a preferred availability of anytime, any day, from 7.00am to 10.00pm.
Some visits might be for thirty minutes; some could be for six hours. There may be some days where split-shifts are required. We provide whatever support is needed, both for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, and also for older people, in Colchester and the surrounding areas.
If you are a positive, bubbly, out-going and enthusiastic person, with a genuine desire to add value to people's lives, then we want to hear from you! A full driving-licence and access to a vehicle are preferred, but not essential.
Personality and a willingness to learn are more important than experience, as full training will be given (in a state-of-the-art office in the heart of Clacton.)
So what will you be doing all day?
You will be supporting individuals to take part in and visit local activities, social clubs, leisure activities… You'll be helping People We Support to go away on holiday, to have days out, and in doing so, will not only encourage them to make decisions and choices about their lives and what they do, but improve your social life at the same time!
You'll be promoting dignity and choice, assisting with personal care where needed, and genuinely being the reason why someone smiles. The work can be challenging but the rewards of supporting people to achieve their goals make every day meaningful.
