Our client is one of the largest specialist hospitals in the UK offering specialist treatment to patients with heart and lung disease. They carry out some of the most complicated surgeries and with continuous investment in new sophisticated treatments they are at the forefront of innovation in their field.
With their facilities spanned across two hospitals they are able to offer treatments on a large scale. With the two hospitals combined they boast 10 operating theatres, 8 Cath Labs, 500 beds catering to a range of specialties including; surgery-cardiac and thoracic, respiratory, cardiology, paediatric, ICU, PICU, day case and transplant. They also provide oncology treatment both adult and paediatric, specialising in the heart and lungs.
We are looking to recruit experienced Staff Nurses to join the Surgical wards of their facility based in Central London. At this facility they undertake some of the most complex surgical procedures and you will work across all aspects of cardiac and thoracic surgery.
Reporting into senior staff and the ward manager will be responsible for planning and delivering appropriate care for admissions and discharges to the unit. You will have an innate ability to quickly identify any issues or concerns and act accordingly. Working as part of the team you will be competent across Venepuncture, Cannulation and Phlebotomy, carrying out these tasks on a daily basis while maintaining a safe environment for patients under your care. You will also be assigned other ad hoc duties as required by senior members of staff.
Working hours are days, nights and weekends on a rotational basis.
To be considered for this role you will have at least one years' experience working in a surgical setting and a keen interest in Cardiology with a good understanding of the anatomy of the heart. You will have experience with IV, Phlebotomy and Cannulation however training can be offered in certain areas if necessary to enthusiastic candidates. You will be a caring and compassionate nurse with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. Working as part of a team you will have excellent communication skills and be a good team player
